Mordialloc - nothing really wrong with it Molly, it just became a forum joke as it was mentioned so often. It became known as Gods own suburb LOL as it was getting quite a push on here.
Its just another suburb really, some will like, some wont.
BB really likes it, and he rents out short term accommodation there.

Mordy is fine and will always be fine - because it's near the city and it's near the sea. There are queues to get into it - all rather - house prices will keep it that way. It is not a place that is going downhill anytime soon.
I don't need the sea - but as a matter of fact we do now do sea after all as my daughters do it. We are in the club not far from Mordy...and one day I thought I saw BB's squids in the surf....
(Hi BB. We will see you down there next season - now we are a fully-paid up sea family after all.

Melbourne's best kept secret - where Jaddy lives.
What goes on tour - stays on tour.
It would have to be pretty spes to entice her to be rather happy about it all..
Good on you Jad!

Hi Bevs -
Food halls in the CBD abound, with plenty of places you can get a meal for $10 or so.
There's a good one in the basement of the shopping centre Australia on Collins, also in Melbourne Central shopping centre and at Southgate, on the opposite side of the river from Flinders Street station.

Anyone any ideas on good hotels or places to stay in the CBD?
I found a really nice studio apartment on AirBnB to rent for a few weeks until we secured a rental, but it's not free when we need it, in fact I can't find anything decent that's available in September that doesn't cost an absolute fortune.

The reason why we wanted to stay in the CBD was because we thought it would be easy access to all the places we needed to go, regarding 'the paper work' side of things. Plus it would give us chance to really explore the city.

Yes, we can only cope with a couple + a baby at most.
The city will always be a lot more expensive to stay in than the suburbs, so if you want to save money stay out a bit, nowhere on the train is much more than 60 mins in to the CBD, many suburbs only 30 mins.

Okie dokie.
We might do that, I'll have one last gander this week then I'll just book whatever I can that's half decent and not too far away from the CBD.

Away from the CBD but on a bus, train or tram route? Would be cheaper as you say. Possibly too far away from CBD for your needs but 'train every 20 minutes, takes 20 minutes' as they say in Williamstown.

I really like the look of Williamstown.
