Here's Mine submitted 4th May
2 x Birth Certs
2 x passports
marriage cert
2 passport photos x 2
skills assessment cert
Work refs for Main Applicant (Husband)
Work refs for me, as I had some from Oz, when I worked there years ago.
Recent Payslip for Husband
Relationship evidence i.e Mortgage A/c & Copy Joint Bank A/c
2x form 80's
We have yet to do medicals & Police Checks.
There is some confusion over the Form 80. It is on the checklist. Some people have chosen not to do it, as you are not always asked for it. But other say they were asked for it, by the case officer at the last minute. So we decided to get it out of the way.

This looks very similar to the Form 80, I suppose I might get it ready, just in case they ask for it ??

The form 1221 is a Supplementary Form, so I'm not going to bother with it, as they have this info already from the Form 80's.

Re: MAY 2008 APPLICANTS
It does look loads like Form 80 () but I think I'm going to put it in cos I did a search on here and some people have been asked for it by their CO in addition to Form 80 and I'm trying everything to avoid any hold ups.
We want to get out there before the start of the school year at the end of Jan 09 so I'm front loading everything in the desperate hope that it helps
Got our meds on Sunday - just attacking the forms now

i have just found the "form 80" and it appears to be a copy of the actual visa application itself
it asks about yourself, family ie mam and dad bros etc, but it does ask more about emploment history, holidays and educations.

Yeah, The form 80 is a bit more detailed than the Visa, as not only do you need your Siblings date of births, but also their Place of Births. We had fun with that one, as I am one of 9 children & my Husband is one of 6. I drove my poor mother mad, asking her loads of questions.
We had to guess the dates of the holidays, apart from the ones that were stamped in our old passports.
Have fun !!!

Re: MAY 2008 APPLICANTS
I am officially a May applicant too! Agent submitted my 176 today. All done! The hardest bit for me was parting with A$2060!!
Agent didn't seem to think requests for medicals and police etc would be for another 5-6 months.
Will add details to beupdate!
Good luck all! x

Re: MAY 2008 APPLICANTS
I shall be doing form 80....it is a little different than the actual visa form.....
because my OH is the main applicant, the visa form was all about him and his family, ie parents, siblings, children.......the form 80 is for all applicants over the age of 16 i think.....
I have 2 non-dependant, non-migrating kids (from a previous marriage)and didn't put them on the visa app as there was nowhere to put them, but can put them on form 80 and not have to worry about leaving them out.....!!
Scared to leave anything out in case they think we're trying to hide something....
So i will feel loads better when it's done, though it doesn't have it on my checklist....
Hey BroomeChick....Welcome to the May Thread!!!

Re: MAY 2008 APPLICANTS
I have just found this on the April Thread.......
Looking Good!!
6 May, 2008
Australia's federal government says it will set up new centres, and provide more resources, to the immigration department to speed up processing of 457, or skilled migrant, visas.
Our reporter Naomi Woodley reports the Federal Government is accepting most of the recommendations from a review of the 457 visa system.
The immigration department will put extra resources into clearing the current backlog of applications by the end of June.
The government says specialised centres will also be set up in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth to process visas from July, and teams will concentrate on regions, industries or projects to address particular shortages.
Employers classified as "low-risk" will be able to have their applications fast-tracked under an accreditation system.
The Federal Opposition is supporting the recommendations, but says many had previously been identified and announced by the Howard government.

I am liking the sound of that!!
