Mrs Brown's Boys is irish in genesis; it's only recorded in the UK. It's very much 'end of the pier' stuff, but it gets an audience of people who love that style of comedy.

And Benny Hill was similar, but different. As with Mr Bean, it's a physical comedy type of thing that can be sold overseas without a language barrier. Given a choice between that and most aussie 'comedy' shows, I know what I'd pick...
