ok, genuine question now.....

Do you need to treat or boil the rainwater before consumption ? Or is it "good to go"?

What sayeth thou, my drizzle-drinking brethren?

I'm guessing a bit, but I guess if its country rain it should be fairly pure? I wouldn't want to drink any rain in central Brisbane without boiling it Too many trucks round here belching out black smoke into the air.

We are on tank water for everything, providing we don't run out and have to switch over to town water. Don't boil it unless we want it boiling. Vastly superior to town water. It switches over automatically if the tank gets to a certain level, we can immediately tell the difference.

I know we used to drink it in Tassie, tasted lovely and we never boiled it, but then the air is so good down there, I did wonder if it'd be different up here.

Hi Asp...I can confirm that they were insulting me and that I'm very glad to be insulted. If they are having a go at me, then they are leaving some other poor sod alone.

As for tank water, it is perfectly safe to drink. Anyone who isn't too keen, you can get a 2 micron filter fitted. Bird poo is 5 microns so it doesn't get through.

You may have seen many houses don't have the TV aerial over the roof. This is so the birds don't crap all over the roof and spoil the rain water.

God, will my supply of useless information never end???

We are on tankwater, which I believe comes from the sky originally, not up with the details.

Hasn't done us any harm ...
