ok, genuine question now.....
Do you need to treat or boil the rainwater before consumption ? Or is it "good to go"?

We are on tank water for everything, providing we don't run out and have to switch over to town water. Don't boil it unless we want it boiling. 
Vastly superior to town water. It switches over automatically if the tank gets to a certain level, we can immediately tell the difference.

As for tank water, it is perfectly safe to drink. Anyone who isn't too keen, you can get a 2 micron filter fitted. Bird poo is 5 microns so it doesn't get through.
You may have seen many houses don't have the TV aerial over the roof. This is so the birds don't crap all over the roof and spoil the rain water.

We are on tankwater, which I believe comes from the sky originally, not up with the details.
