I hate to be a pedant, but I think you will find that whilst cats and dogs are God's creatures, cane toads are the work of Satan

FFS ! resorting to the troll label ... well thats just childish behaviour when you have not got anything better to say. All are valid points.

IMO I agree that they are a pest but that doesn't mean they deserve the cruelty that some people on here are dishing out. You are more likely to be blinded etc with the golf club method and its more dangerous for the dogs/cats as secretion could be left all over your garden, than you are by doing what every link on this thread says about freezing them.

Also they are nomore a danger to humans & domestic pets than any other venomous creature that lives in oz.

Of course not!

Well apart from the fact that you dont often get dozens of other venomous creatures in your yard at one time & the fact that not many other venemous creatures will jump in your pets waterbowl & poison them  .

I've said my piece already in the thread re the toad issue.
However the troll comment is based upon the fact that this person is most definitely a multiple identity poster. Someones alter ego playing devils advocate or our old mate back again.
Don't worry I won't say I told you so when the account is closed  :p

I hope all of you that advocate the killing of cane toads with golf clubs would not mind if I smashed your cat or dogs head in with the same device as these animals are responsible for many many deaths of native and non native animals.
Ironic really!
Looking down from space an alien would judge man to be the worst of the lot BTW as we are just another animal, just a step up in the brains department....Well, some of us.

You are obviously aware of the dangers so I doubt very much that you would leave a waterbowl lying around for this to pose a problem. Just like you wouldn't go sticking your hand in an area where a spider could be lurking.

Some people are just plain ****ing stupid! Did you think before you typed that response? What do the bloody dogs drink then if you can't leave water out for them? Do you leave it on a shelf out of reach just to tease them?

Dumb as dog shit response from someone with zero experience of living with a plague of killers in the garden. To use your euphemism FFS! Friday I got 18 in an hour tonight I got 9 in 10 mins. I've lived here 2 1/2 yrs and seen one poisonous snake in the garden yet can kill 30 toads in one weekend. Lady I don't think you quite realise the numbers involved here. To freeze them I'd need a chest freezer the size of a small car. Far quicker to crack them under the chin with the 2 wood.
