Excellent post, totally agree on all accounts.

Im sorry you have a large family....i know it can be hard to fight obesity

So you love it here so much you moved to OZ? maybe you need to come home and see for yourself, paying taxes is not a problem if it is spent the right way, do people go to hospitals in Australia and come out with super bugs? do your MP's get tax payers money to buy Sky T.V and new Kitchens? do child perverts get moved 100 yards from a school to live? do they tax petrol at 75% then charge you road tax on top? do you pay Polish familys living in Poland child welfare? Do you have a Prime Minister who sends a letter of condolence to a FOOTBALLER for missing a penalty rather than one to the familes who have loss their teenager to Knife crime or gun crime, or even the brave solders who have lost their life because of a Goverment mix up

You want to emigrate. That's all that matters. Everything else is immaterial.
Come for what Australia has to offer. End of.

I agree with this. If a person moves from the UK with thoughts of Australia as being without problems, they are going to be disappointed. Don't leave because you hate a whole place, it can only lead to disappointment when you arrive somewhere else.

Its not better here, it is just different.

I'd say the answer is yes to most of the above.
MRSA is a worldwide problem - it's a bacteria. It doesn't just live in the U.K.

Politicians are the same the world over - in fact, believe it or not, some countries have politicians that are even MORE corrupt than the U.K

There may not be Polish families livivng in Australia but there will be some kind of equivalent group that are blamed for the countries ills.

We are hearing a lot of about knife and gun crime in this country and I agree it is a worry in certain areas although it's not a major problem in my area. Don't know about the situation in Australia.

Don't give up your day job 'cos you're not funny. You know nothing of my situation or why I am living in Oz do you?

Yes to most of the above. All the councillors where I worked were 'stood down', on full pay of course, because of major corruption and abuse of tax payers money, I and many others lost our jobs because of them. As for child perverts, Oz has more than it's fair share I can assure you.

With the exchange rate at almost 2:1 and house prices falling in the UK, possibly going to crash you can get a lot of house for your money.

I like the thought of a big house in the country BUT what if there's going to be a huge recession? I don't fancy being on the dole.

Your thoughts....
i have been out of the uk for 7 or so years. been in oz for 5 1/2 years. im now on my second visit back to the uk in that time. i would say that from a financial aspect there has not been a better time to return to the uk. the average house is cheaper in the uk. groceries are significantly cheaper. in fact just about every day to day purchase is cheaper. fuel seems to be the only thing more expensive than oz. on the other hand everybody seems to be carrying knifes and stabbing people. everyday another murder of a 16 year old and people are still just as miserable as they were, still complain about the same shit. when i left the uk the sun shone out of tony blairs arse. now he is despised by many. like many i used to yearn for my holidays every year. they were something to look forward to. many people say that you must miss that. oz is so far away, do you not miss not being able to jump on a plane and go to paris. the answer is no. for the first time in my life i live somewhere that i dont feel like i need to leave when im on holiday. day to day living is good, the weather is good and therefore the need to escape is less. but oz is definitely a more expensive to live but you do get more for your money. im still mr average but mr average in oz has a little bit more.
