Latest report guys is "an up and down couple of days" mainly to do with feeding - which doesn't mean a lot to me as I have a stuffed chipmunk not a baby but at least Flynn is hanging in there for all he's worth.
That report is now 24 hours old, so lets just keep praying, hoping and everything else.

Re: Flynns update, its a rollercoaster!
The last few days has been down up down up. As Polly said a lot of it was feed intolerance, which doesn't sound much but in a tiny baby can be very bad. It makes their gut lining very thin and in some cases can leak bacteria into other parts of the body and cause necroses, very bad news!!!
Anyway after much deliberation, tests x rays, food thickening, stop starting he was left on 2 mls per hour for a while.
In the mean time cranial ultra sound day was looming and at the back of my mind (and most other peoples) was the fact that all this discomfort and braddys could be down to pressure on the brain caused by the sodding ventricle growing larger and needing some more intervention.
BUT!!!
The ventricle is SMALLER!!!!!!! This is looking like no further intervention for a long while if any and pretty much no visits from the Neuro surgery team YAY
Secondly he lasted 12 hours without his C Pap (constant positive air pressure, the things up his nose to help his lungs stay partially inflated) Then he started to tire so they put him back on. This is massive progress, BUT (please don't tell me i'm being pessimistic, just keepin it real ) he is doing this with the aid of drugs (lung stimulant) and monitors, he is far from going solo yet. HOWEVER its still a massive achievement.
He also had a big poo!!!! (again with ermmm help ) but he did it and his tummy looked much less Garfield like once he'd done it.
Clara broke the news of the ventricle yesterday and she got a huge shout and a big hug from me whistle.gif and she tells me that Flynn is her little hero and shes so proud of him too.
Anyway he's back on Cpap this am, very very tired apparently, but they haven't had to give him oxygen, hes still in air and they will leave him alone for a few days now.
He is still only on 3 mls of feed per hour, which is now being thickened to help with his reflux, but he is tolerating it well. They will probably keep him on that for today so they don't sress him after all that exertion breathing on his own.
I do have some photos of him with no tubes on his face, but can't find them at the mo (the PC's eaten them ) But when Matt's around I'll post them.
Flynn is one whole month today
Check this out from a couple of days ago...
