Thats great news.
If Flynn's off his TPN, onto 2 hourly feeds and managing off CPAP for 8 hours at a time that is HUGE progress. He will probably still have the odd brady or drop in his saturations but try not to worry too much, that is entirely normal for such a little one.
He is looking great. Well done HUP for being so hands on too. Dads are sometimes a bit scared to handle their babies until they're a bit bigger.
I've been following this thread and am really pleased for you all. I'm glad that you have made friends with other parents on the unit. I always feel that parents can sometimes offer each other more support than the nurses can.
Keep up the good work Flynn, am looking forward to more photos.

Have they any estimate when he will be allowed home, obviously a while yet but do you have a rough date to look forward to, get you all home so the stress levels drop. Hope hevs OK saw the other thread.

He's still in ICU so we have 2 more levels to get through first
He still only weighs 1.7 kilo's.Just to give an idea in this pic he's in a 00000 vest (premie size) and its a far from snug fit. The vest layed next to him is a 0000 (new born size) I misguidedly took it in today thinking it would nearly fit him
I think we just get so used to seeing him that we think he's normal size

I was consoling Aprils Mum today as they think she has meningitis and she was having a lumbar done. She was saying how fed up she is of everyone saying things like "oh, but you said she was better" or "isn't she supposed to be past that age now" or "but she was due the first week of Jan, surely she will be coming home soon" etc etc. She said that theres very few people outside the unit who actually understand any of what we are all going through and i had to agree with her, (apart from you guys of course
) even my own family are saying things like "oh at this rate we'll have him home for xmas"
The nurses are fab though, and as for the Dr's, well to me they are just from a very special place and I feel honoured to have such a great team to save and keep my babies life

It was either that or banning me from the hospital that was the turning point I think.
