Sorrow by David Bowie and, at the same time, My Sweet Lord by George Harrison. 49p each from WH Smiths.
My Dad was home from working in the Middle East and nearly died of shock when he heard the B side to Sorrow; I didn't really understand it.
I've just looked up the year on wiki, and one's 1973 and the other 1971, but I know I bought them together
I was only really into them because my big sister was - in 1973 I was 10 or 11 - but still love them both.

I am not counting The Wombles as it was bought for me!!
Mine would be The Mobiles "Drowning in Berlin" I would have been about 10.
I was also a HOOOJ Adam Ant fan and wanted to marry him and run off in a stage coach (a la Stand and Deliver) and live happily ever after.
Then I got over him and fancied David Van day from Dollar saw him on I'm a celebrity and wanted to twat him!!!
