Drop the 'haitch'
I wish Scouse wouldn't drop his haitches. If he didn't, then I wouldn't have spent the last 5 years incorrectly calling a friend of his Ellen

Why do people pronounce the letter H with an H at the beginning?

Re: Drop the 'haitch'
This is one of my big annoyances... particularly in light of this...
I raised my child to not pronounce "aitch" as "haitch" because, I said, even though a lot of other people do it... it's wrong.
You can imagine my disgust when, at school, a teacher called it "haitch" and when my child said "my Mum says I should say "aitch" not "haitch"... the teacher says "your Mum is wrong".
WTF. Ignorant dumb-ass cow. On several levels.

If anyone's upset at the atrocious spelling and grammar on this thread, just imagine I'm giving you a comforting pat on the back.
Saying 'there, their, they're'.
Saying 'there, their, they're'.

Yes. I don't mind if teachers get it wrong... but when they get it wrong and tell my kid that gets it right that they're wrong... that gets my back up.

Re: Drop the 'haitch'
I was given a ridiculous amount of tests at an agency interview. I wasn't impressed when they marked "its" (belonging to it) wrong and said that I should have written "it's". They told me that lots of people get that wrong. They weren't happy when I pointed out their error.
