Drop the 'haitch'
I wish Scouse wouldn't drop his haitches. If he didn't, then I wouldn't have spent the last 5 years incorrectly calling a friend of his Ellen :frown:

Re: Drop the 'haitch'
Why do people pronounce the letter H with an H at the beginning? :D

Because they are poorly educated. This applies to some teachers as well. There is no such letter as "HAYCHE".
BB And I could often be found sneaking a fag in the sports shed during classes ;) |
Re: Drop the 'haitch'
This is one of my big annoyances... particularly in light of this...
I raised my child to not pronounce "aitch" as "haitch" because, I said, even though a lot of other people do it... it's wrong. You can imagine my disgust when, at school, a teacher called it "haitch" and when my child said "my Mum says I should say "aitch" not "haitch"... the teacher says "your Mum is wrong". WTF. Ignorant dumb-ass cow. On several levels. |

Re: Drop the 'haitch'
If anyone's upset at the atrocious spelling and grammar on this thread, just imagine I'm giving you a comforting pat on the back.
Saying 'there, their, they're'. |

A couple of years ago after hearing their teacher say haitch several times one of my boys told the teacher it was aitch not haitch  She was fine with it but I'm not sure if she changed her ways but well done my boy anyway.

Yes. I don't mind if teachers get it wrong... but when they get it wrong and tell my kid that gets it right that they're wrong... that gets my back up.

I was given a ridiculous amount of tests at an agency interview. I wasn't impressed when they marked "its" (belonging to it) wrong and said that I should have written "it's". They told me that lots of people get that wrong:blink:. They weren't happy when I pointed out their error:lol:.
