I haven't seen it yet, but my take on this is that technology will get better and reduce (slowly) the number bad decisiions over time.
Yes there will still be shockers, but these will also reduce to only one or two per game, and eventually none.
The last S.A. v S.L. ODI also had one or two. Much better than 3, 4 or 5 per game.

Case in point, had the 3rd Umpire also had the benefit of sniko as well as hotspot he would have been able to establish at exactly what point the noise was made and that would have then lead to the correct decision being made
This happened in the Ashes, with both Clarke and Bell getting away with shocking DRS reprievals. They were clearly out, both snicko and simple video replays said so, but hotspot couldn't "conclusively" say they weren't.
What I am getting at though, is that after those games, the ICC did nothing to try and improve the use of technology to try and rid the game of those blights. Why? Simply because Aus and Eng were already signatories to the DRS system, so the ICC didn't have to do anything, they already had them signed up. It all comes down to money, and the ICC knows that it cannot afford to use all the best technologies available and therefore we are left with a very substandard DRS system.
It has the capability of being excellent, but it is being shockingly administered.
Good on India, because in a way (probably unintentionally) they are forcing the ICC to improve and show India it is worth adopting.
At the moment, we would be better off without it.

I'm not convinced the tech will get any better though. More importantly I'm also not convinced the ICC will administer the technology correctly either.

I also think that if both teams decide to use it then that's good too, otherwise we'll hardly get the chance to see it working (or not working) properly.
If it never gets tested in the real world then progress will never be made.

How does it feel to be looking up the rankings from down there?
Try not to choke on those sour grapes Vash. I mean that genuinely, I really do.
At the moment India are merely papering over the still gaping cracks in Aussie cricket.
