Yep, but I dare say had India won the toss the result might have been a little different.

They say in England if Yorkshire is doing well, England is doing well. Same can be said for NSW and Australia.

O'Keefe's inning certainly gave Warnie a change of heart.

India's 18 test record comes to an end.

20 actually, a graphic came up which said about India's last 20 tests at home which included no defeats - 17-0-3; now 17-1-3.

India lost 20 wickets before the end of the 3rd day (so did Australia); I doubt if the toss had any bearing and it's purely conjecture but lessen the achievement if you must so you've got some 'expert analysis' on how 'we' should do better. 'O'Keefe's inning'

Was that, sorry I was wrong about the number of unbeaten tests for India and I don't know what I was thinking when I said O'Keefe's inning?

"India, who had not lost a home Test in 20 matches since a 2012 defeat to England in Kolkata," from the Guardian so therefore incorrect.

Hmmm, looks like preparing a decaying dustbowl and underestimating the opposition doesn't work. That and having no clue how to use DRS.

1 loss in 21 tests to put it in perspective. Are you referring to Smith being lbw - they'd used them up and couldn't review but maybe you are saying in hindsight they shouldn't have used up their two so they still had one?

India is the country which insisted for yonks that there be no DRS in their series home and away. Perhaps they aren't practised in in the use of it?

I've always thought if you get the talisman Kohli out cheaply twice you are well on the way to beating India. It's doing that which has proved difficult for all teams as he is an exceptional batsman.

Discussion points. ;)

Yes, too quick on the draw to use a review without keeping one up the sleeve for an obvious howler.

Lack of practice for sure.

Should be a good series now. :)

Well it has continued in Bengaluru. It's no mean feat to get India out 3 times for around 400 on their own pitches. Today was a hard fought day and 48 runs with 4 wickets in hand is a slight advantage with us to bat last. Much will depend on getting a decent lead as it is hard to see Kohli etc getting all out for under 200 again. Nice to see Ganguly praise O'Keefe and Lyon:

India v Australia: Bengaluru Test: I have never seen two Aussie spinners put so much pressure on India, says Sourav Ganguly - Times of India

Let's hope Australia can grind it out again today and get a really useful lead in the first innings. Pretty sure they don't wanna chase too big a total batting last.

150 run lead would be huge and they might even bowl India out for less than that. :fingerscrossed:

India played much better yesterday but are way off their home prime

I'm somewhat surprised and if they are honest with themselves, so should Australia

Turning the Fox Sports back on has been worth every penny. Great cricket. Great to see Australia go on a tour prepared for once.

The head of the snake has been cut cheaply again. Kohli gone.

There could be a reason India are off their home prime and something to do with the much improved opposition who learned to change to a younger team with some new faces after 2-0 vs your lot. Credit where credit is due and not so much of the luck and surprise I'd say.

Pitch seems to be getting better, which is awesome, though India reckon this pitch breaks up on day 4 and 5. If it does we are screwed.
