Good test in the end, should make the last two games interesting.
Good on Pakistan for showing some ticker. Less said about Eng vs Ind the better. :D As for England in India, well it's just another flat batting track. Pointless really. They should be 7 day tests over there, to get a result. |

Oops, I may need to retract my last sentence. ;)
Tough though, cricket really is a bonkers game when it comes to the different conditions it's played in. It's almost weird it's classified as a single sport. |

Yeah, this is painful, India knock 750+ for 7 declared and England hopeless, 103-0 then 4 wickets for 26 runs, and later 192-4 suddenly becomes 200-8, and now 15 overs to survive, but almost inevitable defeat. Perhaps a couple of good wickets, but mostly cowardly performances.

England were never going to win this tour (5 tests in India is hard going) but I thought that they put on some good performances |

I wouldn't be too hard on England. India prepares these flat-track wickets or raging turners to suit their batsmen and spinners. All good for India at home but when they tour they are, generally, hopeless. India really only win series away against the minnows

Re: The Cricket Thread
Pens down, looks too good to pass up, I'm off to the cricket.
Looks like standing room only in the members. |
Re: The Cricket Thread
SA just annihilated SL 3-zip including an innings win in the 3rd test
SL were never on top in the entire series - our bowlers were awesome What was Australia's result in their last SL series? SA won there BTW Looking forward to Australia in India  |

Had you beaten SL in SL it might be something to crow about. Beating them in SA should be a given.

Re: The Cricket Thread
I've just been following on Cricinfo the ODI in New Zealand. This young Stoinis hit one of the best innings I've ever even heard of. Sixes and fours became routine. The last wicket partnership of 54 runs in 24 balls was pretty amazing. Hazlewood, the #11, made 0 of those runs, and actually faced 0 balls! Wow!

Re: The Cricket Thread
Again Cricinfo Aust v NZ - and again a very close game. Williamson doesn't seem to be arranging his bowling options at all skillfully. Oh, Boult has just got Cummins, but as I write, there are 32 runs to get at a run a ball. I wish I were there!
