Yep, good comeback by Root in particular. No comments until both teams have both batted, don't think you'll get that somehow. Interesting 1st day so far.

I do know one thing however ... I need to go to fakkin bed ...

It is and just what we wanted; ebbs and flows, fightbacks etc. I'm trying to watch Murray at Wimbledon and the cricket at the same time but well before bedtime here of course.

Does anybody have a decent live feed of the cricket? Been looking all over? It's obviously not on TV here in Canada unless you subscribe to a very specific channel.

Excellent day's play with England scoring at a good test match rate. Haddin's drop off Root 2nd ball cost 134 runs. Good recovery by England, sloppy dismissal by Buttler near the end made it about honours even overall/slight edge to England. It's very hard to watch 4 Wimbledon men's quarter finals and the test cricket.

One area where traditional media outlets still have an advantage unfortunately

Johnson's in the nervous 90's for 0 wickets. Real shame Harris got injured and Johnson didn't get to carry the drinks.

It's annoying here in England with the full tv coverage being on Sky. The Ashes should be on free-to-air.

One good thing about living in Oz is that cricket is free.
