Nothing to do with being Melburnian at all; I've seen more games at the Oval on TV than you've had hot dinners (don't patronise me and say you have to be there to experience it), last one a few days ago, the rain affected ODI, prior to that the England/NZ test. If you can't see that you are struggling to get a ticket because of the feeble capacity of the ground, a major venue in London, then so be it. Get you eyes tested if you can't see all the action, in comfort, at the G. I shouldn't need to go into why the ground area at the G is what it is so that it is a multi sport, all year round venue. The Oval for part of the year, other than internationals, is populated by a few rah, rah chaps and their dog to watch Surrey.

Good for you; your preference. 91,300 at the G last night to watch 2 other states play rugby - not rules, not cricket, not soccer; 91,300 accommodated in a city where rugby is about the 5th most popular sport at best. You just don't get that what you call 'wasted space' is to accommodate the number one sport at the G do you? How about Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games on a 200 metre track for a small crowd overlooked by the gasometer?

Now tell me, you are in the UK. You must be getting along to at least one of the 5 Ashes tests surely?

Did you see how much space there was between the crowd and the pitch? Rugby or any rectangular sport should not be played just for the sake of the administrators making a few extra bucks. Its an embarrassment.

(imagine Australia saying we'll play one of our home tests in NZ)No, we're in Scotland actually so going to a test in Wales or London is like making a trip from Sydney to Melbourne but if they decide to play in Scotland rather than Wales I'll go. I'll be watching on telly.

Ok. If distance is a factor, and ground tickets will be for the London tests, you should get yourself to Trent Bridge or Edgbastion. Edgbastion is awesome for atmosphere. Trent Bridge is good too. There's a great Hooters Bar between the ground and station. Mind you, it will probably would be quicker to get to London from Scotland.

That's your excuse? Seriously? Its like an hour plane ride. Its like a daily commute. Hello Melbourne.

2 We will probably beat you in Birmingham so there's no way it's EdgBASTION rather than Edgbaston.
3 Regular commitments on most days of the week don't permit me going down south for cricket.
There's also too many Jimmy Savile's for my liking.

1 I don't drink so have no need to get fuelled to enjoy anything (or in the Barmy Army's case, forget everything).

I say this with the deepest respect. There's so much to explore and learn out there. Get involved

Also, I don't need to go to Birmingham, I've already been to Pakistan and India.

BTW. Ouch on the Birmingham comment. You should try it.

You still didn't get how inappropriate the spelling error was, it will be far from a bastion for England.

Tennis has taken me to Edgbaston Priory and Solihull for different weeks so have tried Birmingham all I want to; no desire to go to the cricket there, will watch it on telly.

I can assure you, believe me or not, that you won't be subjected to the backend slums of Birmingham tennis community while watch cricket there. On the other hand Trent Bridge is a must. Of course if women aren't your thing then the Hooters Bar won't be of appeal.
