The recent riots have certainly magnified the issue at hand. There is an issue right now in the UK, and the govt certainly needs to take action. But in reality, how big is this problem? I would suggest that whilst the riots remain very high profile media items at this point in time, before too long we will examine the incidents more objectively and recognise that the number of crimes committed and individuals involved, is not a high number (relatively speaking).

In terms of Aus v UK - I would be very surprised to see these kind of riots occur in Australia.

This will all spill over to the USA very soon, and I'm sure it will be triggered in a similar fashion.
