I can honestly say the two Irish sausages I just ate are the best sausages by miles that I've had in Australia in seven years here I can see the rest of the packet vanishing this evening

sausages and bacon were the 2 things i remember as being tosh when i stayed with the rels in Sydney, almost as bad as yank stuff. Personal favourite is Aberdeen Angus beef sausages on the barbie

Qld doesn't do unsmoked bacon as a rule, I have found one brand that Aldi sell sometimes but thats all, and I just don't like the smoked taste so bacon sandwiches are a real treat when i can get hold of the Aldi unsmoked stuff.
Aussie sausages generally aren't worth houseroom, tried loads and they are disgusting, full of gristle and fat, so I never buy any these days. This shop is selling packs of twenty, guaranteed Irish not Aussie, and as for unsmoked gammon, that is just unheard of here, I don't think anyone's seen my that excited for years (probably not since I saw my last Irish sausage )
