you wanna add some sauteed leeks into that .... leeky mash is definately orgasmic!! speshly with tons of coarse ground black pepper

I like leeks separate, with lashings of butter and black pepper... and the potato on the side.

shepherds pie - stew and dumplings - steak and kidney pudding with mash potato.............. oh the list could go on and on. food that feels like a blanket (that's probably because it gives you a blanket of fat!!!)

A chip buttie made with homemade chips and pickled onion vinegar on thick, heavily Lurpacked white bread....Heaven.

Another one that is a definite and which I miss here big time is Smoked Fish Pie with a creamy mashed potato top and covered with cheese.
You get very little smoked fish here , except for salmon, trout and occasionally smoked cod but it comes from South Africa and is BRIGHT orange!!

Oh yes, really fat, long home made chips, all salty and buttery, in really cheap white bread.
Nigel Slater talks about that in a recipe book I have of his... esp the licking of the salty, buttery fingers afterwards.
Is anyone's mouth watering?
