Because there aren't enough "keen eyed shoppers" ! Too many new migrants used to using Supermarkets

It is laughable how the 'defenders' of all things Australian will try and argue that higher prices are somehow a good thing:confused:

G

Not neccesarily a bad thing either unless you only look at things from a purely selfish viewpoint. I would rather pay more for my food if we could ensure that suppliers were paid a fair price for their wares, where ever in the world you live

I agree....but you won't find that in Australia any more than in the UK or anywhere else.

Indeed but you will find it on a bigger scale elsewhere. A much bigger scale.

Simply because of the size of the market.....it's got nothing to do with Australian altruism or morality.....which many would like us to think judging by some recent threads.

That would be the bigger scale I referred to then:confused:

So Australia is more ethical than the UK because the market is smaller:confused:

Grayling...come on! Why are you bothering!

The Australians care deeply about the Earth and the well-fare of all its people. People of all nations, colours and creeds.

A recent survey found the Australians (including British expats living in Australia) the least likely to commit any selfish act against another human being. They are the most likely nation in the world to turn up on your doorstep bearing free gifts, including gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Don't argue with the facts now, Grayling.

I never said it was. How I might put it is that due to their position in the grand scheme of things, the big Euro/US players are able to be less ethical due to their power. I don't doubt for one minute the big 2 here would if they could, to a much larger degree than they are currently able to.

I am sure the farmers concerned are really pleased that they are being screwed by Australians rather that Brits or Americans:rolleyes:

Tesco etc has a much bigger dick with which to shaft, ergo, it hurts more.
