I have a BSC(Hons) Degree in Sociology as well as a MPhil in Sociology. I also taught at University to Degree level students. My name is Spalen, it has been 1 year 25 days since I last drank blood. I decided to give up drinking blood when I realised it had control of me , and I wasnt in control of it. I wont lecture anyone, but you should all consider giving it up. The 12 step programme has helped me and kept me clean for 381 days now. ....it helps us to understand why gay men in particular are seen as a high risk factor, but....and here's the thing....as Slaoke says...straight people can also pass HIV on in donated blood and that is why the blood is checked

So...in summary, if straight and gay people can pass it on and blood gets checked anyways, then why discriminate
