That's quite arrogant as you have no idea how hard these people work or how efficient they are. Efficiency over time works far better than the other way around.

And referring to me as 'the left' is a bit silly from someone who has a strong dislike for name calling.
...... and your point is? I'm arrogant? More name calling from you Nige. More stooping to new lows.

Hmm nope, that's not name calling. Perhaps that explains why you're so sensitive.

Meanwhile, in South Australia...

A big swing to Labor is threatening what was once a safe Liberal seat and giving the ALP a tantalising prospect of a majority government in South Australia.

"I mean a fourth-term government with a by-election in a safe Liberal seat getting something in the order of about a 9 per cent swing to the Labor Party, this sends a clear and unmistakable message to Tony Abbott in Canberra: 'Break your promises at your peril.'"

From all the info we have gathered so far its not looking like its going to happen. for us that leaves us in an unfortunate situation, So we have two choices now as there isn't any other tunnle work currently going on in Melbourne, we either move to Sydney or the surroundings and he applies for a job on the Northconnex (I think its called) Or we go back to the UK where he still has a job on Cross Rail.
Partners been offered 3 large construction projects to run in QLD next year, yet in Melb, he cant get a bite unless he has 'Experience of the Unions'. Not much of any marching, protesting, even unions goes on in brisbane, its all very laid back, so he too is having a hard time, despite being born in melbourne

He is talking fly in fly out weekly, bris work to melb where kids UNI. I manage the house building ( I have done that so many times its OK ). Melb to bris weekly, He thinks that is nothing, 2 hour flights in aussie terms are short. Wouldnt be my cup of tea

Thanks for the rental advice the other day, we need short term north side or city though, boys want to travel on trains, and as you know to change line you need to go back to city each time.

Oh the joy of it all

South Australia, like Tasmania, lives on the welfare of the productive states and therefore loves socialism, so this is not surprising

As the article points out, a near 10% swing TO a fourth term government in a solidly right leaning (or non 'socialist' if you want to be all BE about it) seat is in fact, quite surprising!

By your definition, WA is also socialist.

For the record, I disagree with your definition.

Yeah the construction business here seems to be made more complicated by unions and the Government. It's a bit of a minefield.

You're welcome Mrs, anytime. If I can do anything else to help just give us a shout.

Hope all goes to plan. If at anytime you feel like some company and a nice long drink of something that makes you slur your words, you know where I am.

I'm becoming a bit of an expert lately of

If your dishonest attitude towards sick leave is reflective across government institutions, its time to provide some incentive against self entitlement.
As if dishonesty remains in the realm of workers and business would never contemplate anything dishonest.

Every position provides sick leave. Very surprised you hadn't heard of it unless self employed.

Anyway some taxing jobs don't mind at all the odd mental health day taken off to recuperate even if not ill in a traditional sense.
Actually very healthy to do so in today's highly charged competitive work place.

As did WA for much of its history. As with most nations, regions less endowed by wealth creating resources, whatever that may be are supported by those that do. Same goes with Germany, Wales, Cocos Islands and the like.

Just as those that earn more do and should pay more as a percentage in taxation. Not forgetting the over supporting tax incentives geared at the wealthy and portions of the middle class.
