yeah im british (asian) but im young and have brains and common sence and know whats wrong and whats right.....
in theory...... no its not my fault.... but the way my folks have brought me up etc... i have some social responsibility to do what i can to help, at the end of the day of it was not for the british my fmaily probably would not be here now....
also if you know anything about migration and history .... the british emprie was the reason why my family moved to Uganda in the first place....... kinda funny how the ended up here but your kinda short of choices when you have to flee in the middle of the night with only what you can carry to the airport. the british at the time realised that they had made a mistake and it was only right that they allow my folks to come over here, they done there good deed,
so yeah i blame the British from 200-300 years ago..... but they learnt their mistakes in time for my folks.... otherwise they really would have been in the shitter.

The size of the local population.
The money to be made from that population's produce.
Asia was full of silks and spices, these could be shipped to Europe and sold for a fortune. So trade was setup. It was biased, but it ment you had to keep the locala fairly happy.
Australia didn't have any produce, and only had a small population. So the land was the only thing of worth. Take it.

Ugandan Asians were allowed into the UK in 1972 not because the UK "realised they had made a mistake" but because they had British passports. What 'mistake' do you think the UK had made, that resulted in Indians being expelled from Uganda?. From what I remember they were expelled because the Africans thought the Asians had too much financial control over their country. Not sure how that's the UK's 'fault'.
the fact they tried to take over india..... ?
the reason why Indians went to Uganda in the first place was because of the British rule, yes the British left India in 1947 but by that time lots of family’s had already settled into life in Uganda.

Yes, despite the sound bites about aborigines there are plenty of them living normal lives around Australia. I still maintain that a lot of these 'normal' aboriginal families are avoiding the demon drink and working standard jobs like everyone else.
Theres plenty of aborigines here in Adelaide also and they can be tricky to deal with, they have a certain way about them unlike any other race Ive ever met. The best ones that I know dont drink, work and/or have lived and grown up around white people.[/QUOTE]
I may be wrong but is this not what the idea of the stolen generation was about? Breaking the cycle of poverty, drunkeness etc, by bringing up the children in white envionment. I don't think it was done with any malice but with good intensions.
We always hear about the bad side of this program but does anybody know what the numbers are for these people eg normal (in the white sense of the word) as opposed to the basket cases that a lot of us see daily?

I better get my sackcloth and ashes out and start beating the crap out of myself as punishment for the actions of my forefathers.
