We have a house in UK (Hertfordhire) and a house here in Washington DC. Mortgages on both the size of the National Debt of Botswana and no sign of a renter in sight for the USA house. Moving to Melbourne end of July (via UK as shipping takes 8 weeks).
Also trying to sell 3 cars (ford Mustang Converible, Expedition and VW Convertible) and a Harley (or ship it - if i can work that out) and a Quad bike. Bloody toys, where did they all come from!!!!

Oh well, lifes too short to worry about money - no good being the richest man in the grave yard.

Hi have any of you that have had house on the market for months thought about contacting the companies that specialise in buying your house from you ? OK they only pay you about 93% of the asking price but by the sound of things some of you are dropping your prices quite dramatically. It sure is our plan that if the house des not sell in the right time frame to go with this option. Rather have it sold and be gone. Think how much more you keep on paying with your morgage payments, they may out weigh each other.

aparently they charge you a non-returnable valuation of approx £600 and its less than 93% the norm is lower

I suppose it depends how desperate you are to sell and start your new life. So I understand you only have 6 months with I-130 once you have your visa to move. Time waits for no man.

try incentivising your estate agents ....

we set descending bonus targets for offers within the first week, second week , 3rd week etc...

and also bonuses if they reached the asking price, then dropped the bonus amount for each £1000 they were less than the full asking price.

they had viewings before the details had been drawn up and full asking price offer within 24 hours. They were on the phone to every client they could find within 2 minutes of us leaving the office after our bonus discussion! Usually there is not that much effort ..... trust me!

ontop of the commission (.75% at that time) they received a £2000 bonus - which is money they actually spent nothing to get apart from some phonecalls.

trust me - show them £'s and they'll work for you! (I used to be "one of them" but dont tell anyone!)
