I am scoffing after dinner mints here. But I have just returned from a run. I'm going every day in these festive times....

His opinion is based on his observation I am sure...I can't critique it.
I think the issue is mostly demographic of which part of it is Australia has the issue with the car and the suburb. (Aside - but people also love the car in the UK too. )

I think you have to look at the original OP question. The honest answer is that there are unlimited opportunites for a healthy lifestyle here, as there are in the UK. There is also plenty scope to be a lardass, as in the UK.
That is the fact of the matter. How you approach it is paramount.

Interestingly, if you look at the graph here:
http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/20...tness-of-food/
You will see that the UK population spends less time eating and has a higher level of obesity.
(That’s not observation or opinion, but research….)

Who is the fattest is not the issue. How do we combat growing levels of self harming through self abuse by food , alcohol, drugs etc, is the issue.
Put the bullshit away and focus people!

Why do we always get to this pointless point? Unless you measure and weigh every person in every country, figures will remain meaningless. Let's just say that most countries in the first world have an obesity problem. Or is it a competition?

We dont need to weigh and measure everyone, statistically it is quite easy to determine the median shape of the population...

It came from the latest OECD report (hardly bullshit). There is a lot of useful data at the site:

Ok. Completely inaccurate then? It isn't fact. Show me facts.
