Any probs with that over there? If there is might have to get my husband to get the clothes in - mind you I suppose the neighbours could become accustomed to the odd shriek
Spiders?? Oh there aren't any of those here Butterfly and of course you won't need a tumble dryer - every day has perfect weather for drying in this country.

No, not in Melbourne at least.

Now that you mention it, may be a good idea to check while folding as I'm not sure if this is a problem in other states.

We should be arriving in SE Melbourne in a few weeks... gonna email friends now see if they've had any probs with it lol.

Oddly its the relatively harmless huntsman spider that has my skin crawling the worst, last time we were in Oz came across a few of them, Wow do they move quick and the size of them.

We have heaps of redbacks in our garden and get the perimeter of the house sprayed each year to keep them down but still shitloads outside of that perimeter.

The longer I am here, the less I care about spiders. We had a snake under our car port the other week, in fact since they have been doing roadworks, there have been quite a few snakes in our suburb.

I am hoping it will prove the same for me - met a tarantula last week and our daughter put me to shame - pretty sure she didn't want to let that hairy giant go

You do not want to hang clothes in the sun to dry either.
Been here for the better part of a decade & never needed a tumble drier yet Still I only wear stubbies & a wife beater 6 days a week so not much to dry.
If it was a suit & tie job then I'd need one.

We've never had one in non-humid Victoria - where at least in winter it can be cold and damp. I think it's an unnecessary expense.

I don't hang workclothes in the sun, only under a pergola which warms up nicely and gets a breeze through - but my wife hangs normal clothes and sheets in the sun but only for fairly short periods.

We have a dryer but have never used it in Melbourne.

In winter we simply used to bring the portable drying rack inside and since the house had ducted heating, they used to dry up quite well.

In summer we always put the clothes out to dry at night therefore no problem with fading.
We used to turn things inside out to hang outside and that dealt with the fading problem, or dry overnight as Oaktree suggested. Never had any issues with spiders on washing in Melbourne even though we had quite a few spiders in the garden

I was ironing a pillowcase once and it had a MASSIVE praying mantis inside. I thought it was a big twig, "how did that get in there?" then it started moving.

I'm not sure if that was a serious question or if you were being sarcastic, but in case it was the former - I didn't own a tumble dryer, if I had then I would've shipped it, on the advice from people here. My ancient microwave self-destructed the week the shippers were due, otherwise that would've come as well.

Yes, I did. I wouldn't have if I'd have known, I just thought it was a twig.
