This is why it keeps going full circle - pedantic snippet little comments in whilst referring to me or anyone who hasn't actually said what you keep bleeding on about. Amazing how there are a handful of people who never read the posts properly but choose that because I stood up for how OP was feeling and didn't agree EXACTLY with everything that was said I'm constantly accused of being unrealistic - you don't even know what my experiences are nor do you know my situation!
Had no one objected to a few of the comments give to OP this thread would have ended pages ago no doubt.
Like I said I don't know how many times the people bleeting this is a public forum don't like it when they can't just give their opinion even when like yours its intended to annoy other people.
That said the behaviour of a few people
And their smarmy comments how would anyone be expected to take
The advice as impartial anyway.

You on the other hand have done nothing but whine about responses you don't like for the last three pages and are getting very tedious. I am off to update my "ignore" list.

. Use Letton Perceival for insurance - they're very good. Certainly bring the flat screens - we brought both and not a scratch. They pack it very well plus you can have new for old insurance.Sell the car. Bring the bikes etc - use a pressure cleaner to get the soil/dirt off. But bring them.

I guess the difference is that other people have commented, when asked, about how tough they think the OP will find it. You know, because she asked...

Bring everything, however old. Our music system was 17 years old and we brought it - I kid you not

Its not till you add up the cost of replacing all the little things that you realise how expensive it is to replace everything. I remember going round my kitchen and working out the cost of things like basic utensils, adds up so fast that I would always advise people to bring as much as they can, especially nowadays when Aus isn't as cheap as it used to be.

Definitely - bit of Jeyes fluid and a pressure washer to get the soil off and chuck in the bikes.

Tumble dryers are essential. It is the only way to get things dry when it is either pissing down or too humid to dry properly.
You do not want to hang clothes in the sun to dry either.

The microwave is nearly as old as our eldest son and we were pretty convinced it may be on it's way to microheaven and the tumble dryer doesn't always behave so we'd thought we'd see if our negotiating skills which paid of last time still worked but it's starting to come back to me now how stressful it was in the first few weeks trying to do everything and buy things....
hmmm maybe I will just throw in everything bar the kitchen sink.
We've got clothes sorted for youngest son for the next 6 years
just got to sort the others out now LOL.

Yeah, good idea. You can always replace later.
We have a dryer but have never used it in Melbourne.
In winter we simply used to bring the portable drying rack inside and since the house had ducted heating, they used to dry up quite well.
In summer we always put the clothes out to dry at night therefore no problem with fading.

Any probs with that over there? If there is might have to get my husband to get the clothes in - mind you I suppose the neighbours could become accustomed to the odd shriek

We brought both with us.
