Can't believe this thread is still going!!!!
Yes we're off the end of this month. Hubby been out of work since November so we are financially screwed in the UK.
Going to rent our house out as it just didn't sell after 22 months on the market.
Getting our solicitor to have the power of attorney so we can sell house later on without having to come back to the UK.
Got an estate agent to sort the house out for us, find good tenants, collect rent etc.
Haven't really thought about not going, we just don't have a choice at the mo.
Heading for Sunshine Coast, Brisbane

Hi everyone
Still can,t believe this thread is still going.. We have now rented out our bungalow and have been living with my parents for 3 months... Husband still has work thank god but only til March.. Booked validation trip for March for a month and hoping if we can find work we will not return. But with all our money tied up in the house we only have a minimum saved. But the kids are so excited to have at least a holiday this year or maybe the start of a new life
I do think this year wil turn around and more people will be looking for a bargain, so fingers crossed they want our homes

hi, no we're still here. not sold, thought about renting out and going this month infact, but there is no work over in oz for oh at the mo, too much of a worry, so we're staying put until job situation improves over there.
we've changed our minds so many times, but i just feel we can't take the risk at the mo
good luck to anyone else in a similar situation
vicky

Hi all
We decided to just go for it in February......and we rented our house out as we couldn't sell it in almost 2 years
Best decision we ever made, the girls love it here.....no regrets!!!
Good luck to those of you still trying to sell.

Nice to hear from you. Really glad things are working out for you all. Has Andrew managed to secure himself a job? That is the only thing stopping us, well that and the building society wanting £2400 to let us rent out our house out! Robbing ******ds. They said it would probably be a £395 arrangement fee then wrote and said they wanted that much!
Anyhow, we will get there eventually! Keep us updated.
