Re: who else can't sell house in Uk and has visa
Your kids are alot older than mine, I have two boys 8 and 4. Im stressed because i want to be with my family out there and its just the house stopping us, also my 8 year old already talks about not wanting to leave. It was only today we had an email about my OH job and the new starting date and now the pressure is on to get out ASAP. How is your 12 year old about leaving?

Our offer came in yesterday at around 5pm so we were a bit blown away! We are calling the agents this morning to accept - but after being a week away from exchange last time, this time we are lot more realistic/pessimistic?! Anyway, we will take one day at a time but this is good news for us to head off with! Well ... the adventure continues - sending loads of lucky vibes to you ... hope it all happens for you very soon x

Well, back from Parma and into a nightmare
Very very close friend die, total shock.
Apart from that and on topic. Our byers have turned into complete nightmare.
A few weeks back they asked if they could come round with a friend who was an servayor to look at what changes they wanted were okay to do, they said it would take 20 mins.
I was not here but O/H was, 2 and half hours later they left Liam said they inspected every room, took photos went in the loft and cellar. Oh my days.
The next thing they send a surveyor to look at damp in the cellar. Yes the house is over 100 years old and yes the cellar is damp The surveyors report back, some damp in the sitting room, needs damp proof to the tune of £600 and re the damp in the cellar suggest we have a specialist firm in to check the under ground drains to make sure there is no leak...I won't tell you the cost of this!!
The cellar is damp but not wet! We checked the outside pipes and under a bush one of the joints had come loose so Liam fixed that as water very easily could have been draining into the cellar from this.
I have spoken to the E/A today, the girl who is dealing it is on her holidays until Monday.
What should we do. ? Tell them to run and jump. They have the mortage, they even stored some stuff in our garage FFS.
We have decided to pay for the damp proofing but to tell them if they want the drains sorting to crack on themselves.
Absolutely pissed off with it all...

I would do nothing on the house unless it is a condition of exchange i.e. you exchange and then do the work or at least get a deposit from them that covers the costs. The deposit will be used towards the exchange deposit. If they pull out it pays your costs, buyers can pull out at any stage and it is a pain when you have spent money.
Good luck

They're the same people who made that unreasonable offer months ago right? If I remember correctly you rejected that and they came back. I would tell them you've already reduced it significantly against your better judgement so you are putting the house back on the market until contracts are exchanged or they put down a deposit. My guess is they really want the house but are trying to squeeze every penny they can from you.

Yeah Paul, the same couple. Its seems an age ago!
I will be having some very long conversations tomorrow with E/A and solicitor. And yes the house will be going back on if they do not sign asap. We are so scared they will walk but we cannot go like this. Time to grab the balls and put them in our court me thinks!

So sorry to hear the news about your friend and your troubles
I lost a very close Pal last August, which triggered me to start the Oz process - Decided 'one life, live it!' - I know she'd want me to grab life with both hands
