Re: Western Australia Ambulance Service/SJAA
Thanks Zulu. Like I said, I'm not taking anything for granted but I asked about timescale if successful today and they suggested I could get my choice of June or July....... If successful so fingers crossed.
Look forward to meeting up with you and some of the others on the other side mate.

[Not quite local I'm in Fife, yeh for a few months, good luck with all the rest of it I'm sure you'll do fine, I was e-mailed the next day after my clinical interview so they will be on the ball with you too. Were any of you two at the info day in glasgow?

Re: Western Australia Ambulance Service/SJAA
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if ambulance technicians in britain have the same qualifications as an ambulance officer in western australia?
I am an ambulance technician in scotland and my qualification is 'BTEC Level 3 in Ambulance Aid and Ambulance Driving' (Edexcel) and wondered if this is enough to be successful if i applied or if I need to take on further training?
Thanks for your help!

Re post above about technicians.
As far as I'm aware they will accept UK technicians who have a minimum 1 year experience, post qualifying and with a UK ambulance service ( i.e not private )
Looking at other post on here and other ex pat forums, it appears that the progression to paramedic is more likely in Aus too so why not fill in the app form and see how it goes
