And China is now taking the role of doing the 'value add' on raw materials - for a lot less capital I bet.

BSL are caught between a rock and hard place at the moment. Exchange rate up and demand for steel down.
It will be interesting to see what the Government do should BSL annouce massive redundancies. Wollongong is hugely dependant on the Port Kembla complex, should it go under, it will take the city with it.

Yep. I think the plant in Hastings is only still going because its machines are set up for an unusual size. There was some talk a couple of years ago about shipping it to China.

Oh right, yes I think you have misunderstood. I was referring to someone who has NEVER lived in Australia. I hope that makes it clearer for you ? ;)

Just out of interest, when was the last time you LIVED in the Uk. Not just been a tourist but lived, worked, paid bills etc.
