We started to look at house now as before there was just no point. But things in the UK are really dire and getting worse. So take the money and run i guess. I talked my my dad the other day and tells me its getting worse with the economy and crime. So next plan is to get my dad out too if at all possible.

had a great weekend, the body and soul expo was great and today we have been to Eddystone Point then down to Policemans Point been a lovely day, 2 years today since we arrived in Australia

Hi Sam ah we also looked at Beauty Point when we arrived then Col got work in Bridport so we stayed here, can be a bit quiet but has something that pulls you back we also spent 6 months in WA but never went to Karratha .. well never really had a need to its great to be off having adventures enjoy it

Hi there Possum, your name Possum always brings a smile to my face. We have Patrick the Possum in our grounds... he comes for his feed every night, he loves apples. We went camping a few months back and a Possum broke into our Tent and stole our Marshmallows, he had pink and white froth all over his face.... Bridport is lovely, we have friends that live there and he works for the golf course. Yes Possum, we love our home in Greensbeach which is near Beauty Point, when I am home I sit there with a bottle of vino collapso and just stare in awe at the bird life, the roos, rabbits and fish jumping in the Tamar. Karratha, of course is entirely different, I found the heat in the beginning a bit over bearing but you get used to it. My O/H has worked in Karratha for many years and he finds it warm out there in the desert, but the fishing is good, great for trips over to Bali, and we dont go short, you get strange longings though for Tassie, like fresh fruit/veggies/eggs, cooler weather and friends but salaries are higher up here, and got a few things we need to do before we go back to Tasmania for good.

mmm Bali that is a good thing about WA we also went over from there, stayed in Ubud I adored it

Hi there Possum, well the Possum sure made us laugh through the night, he wouldnt leave us aone. Good luck with the Golf, I will probably join you when we come over. Tongue n cheek here Possum, everybody told me that WA was stunning, each to their own but for me Tasmania beats it hands down. The Wine Route in WA very nice but to snobbish for me, I love our local wine growers, it is more cottage industry and I prefer that. Camping in WA is good, well organised etc, like Freemantle very much, I always stand there and imagine what it must have been like to arrive by boat there a hundred years ago! scary stuff hehehehehe

Yes Possum, Port Hedland airport isnt too far from us, they do some wonderful deals... Here in Karratha, there is a wonderful frniture shop dealing with Balinese furniture, and am slowly collecting stuff like day beds for our rumpus room. Bali is beautiful isnt it and Ubud amazing, such lovely people as well. Do you miss WA?

well its a different kind of stunning, to me WA exactly filled my picture of Australia. big red kangaroos, red earth the most fantastic sunsets and beaches, we caught a bus from Perth up to Broome I will never forget the stars and the landscape as we travelled, emus next to the road!! and the big lizards we shared a beach with dozens of turtles in Exmouth no one else around just fantastic I'm not talking of the suburbia but of the land.

we were based in the Swan Valley so did a few vineyards, went to some really nice ones and to a few good festivals

some great vineyards here though, we to Festivale the other week had a ball tasting the plonk

mmm think it would have been betting arriving at Freemantle than Port Arthur or worse Sarah Island

not sure if I miss WA, dont think I could live in the heat to be honest though suppose you'd get used to it, we havent been back since 2003 it sounds like a different place reading stuff on here, sounds like its very built up now.

So your container took 3 months - that was quite a while. I remember when we made enquiries last year they said between 10-12 weeks but i think most other people we know that have shipped stuff did take less than that amount of time. Guess it depends on each journey!

Hi Kay, oh yes, i remember now about her doing that! But then again its not unusual in some cultures is it, and im sure i've read somewhere that some bury it outside their front door's for luck! That guy Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall cooked one as well once on the tv and made something like pate out of it! Now i know i'll eat anything, but i think i'd give that a miss myself.
