It is very stressfull trying to get everything sychronised. Once we had an exchange date we then got the shippers in to take our belongings. On date of exchange we spent the next 10 days staying with family and friends in UK saying our farewells. And your soo right time just runs away towards the end, so try and get your farewells in asap. After that we spent 1 week in LA and 10 days in Melbourne. We bought a car in Melbourne, Duncan brought it over on the Spirit of Tasmania ferry and the next day me and Alex flew out to meet him in Devonport. Personally I don't think I could stomach the rough seas of the Bass Straight, so I took the cheats way out!:thumbsup:

Good luck with your plans Cathy, it sounds to me like you will have a quick sale! So see you in 4 months time then!:eek:

We have a new EA now who believe our house will sell within a few weeks :eek:
Have had a bad few weeks with deciding where we should live in Oz :(
Seems to be the hardest deicision to make, especially with kids who want a pool in the garden!!!!
Anyway, looks like Tas is still in the running for us......:thumbsup:
I need to be happy in Oz........so last night Andrew and I said Tas would be our first choice......so sod the pool, we can buy a blow up one for the garden....LOL
Feel sooooooooooooooooooo happy again at last!!!!!!
Hoping to be out there by May at the latest.......about 12-14 weeks!!!!
Trying to figure out how to book flights to Tas which gives us the double baggage allowance from the Melbourne connecting flight to Tas....any ideas? :huh:

Anyho as I was saying! :sneaky:

The only way around this is to a. Pay the excess baggage fees
or b. come on the ferry from Melbourne to Devonport

The ferry leaves Melbourne at 7pm and arrives at Devonport at 6am, you can book a cabin and kip on the way over. Where abouts in Tassi are you thinking of going or are you gonna have a drive around and wait and see?

You may like to consider buying a car in Melbourne, they have more choice and huuuuge car sales places.
We were really cheeky and arranged loads of test drives in the UK on cars that we thought we might like to buy out here. Foiling the car sales men into thinking we had loads of money to buy a car off them!!:eek: But it saved loads of time, because we knew what kind of car we wanted and made a beeline for the showrooms that had them in our price range. Oh and we offered them loads less than they had them up for, never offer the asking price, always go 10% lower than what they are asking. Not only can you find out what kind of car you want before you get here but you can also check out the car showrooms online before you even leave the UK. I can give you some links if you are thinking of doing this.

Glad you are thinking of Tas again, I thought you were off to Cairnes?

We were going there.......but something wasn't right about it. Had a good job there too, but money's not everything if you're not happy.
Thinking of South Tas, Blackman's Bay area maybe......won't know til we get there really.
Good idea about buying a car in Mel then getting ferry over :thumbup:
What's the cost to go on the ferry?
We have to have a 7 seater car and hope all our luggage will fit in!!!

We got a 7 seater pajero, lovely car, they are called shoguns over there. We only just got our luggage in and there were only 3 of us!:eek: But you could get a roof rack that would help with the luggage space.
We stayed at a place called Graham Court appartments, they were ok with a kitchen and living area etc, they are in NewTown a lovely place with some very old style houses. A good base till you find an area you like. But there are loads of places to stay just do a search on google you will find loads.

Well seeing as we had all the crap luck with selling.....blah,blah we thought (as we will have another little one soon and to add value to the house )we would extend :eek: again and add a bedroom with en-suite (dahling!) cue a building site once more :ohmy: .

I should be well used to it but each time it begins I feel all panicked that it won't be completed in time for bubbs #5 arrival!! which is creeping up faster than I thought it would,i'm 25 weeks already OMG get a move on Jer!!

We went to a wildlife park today in Hertfordshire and had a lovely day - but all the while when we were walking about i was thinking about moving! ;)

I have bought a few girlie things and I felt like a fraud :eek: as if I was buying them for someone else!!! After 4 cycles of boys stuff it is weird!! and theres so much stuff like accessories to go with each outfit Yippee!!
