Sounds lovely xx

Freezing here with really bad winds....we escaped the snow in Wales though...was really bad across Britain. I don't normally bother with the weather but I need it to be ok for all my boys to land in Heathrow in the morning!!!!

Zo

Oh I hope they had a good time. I bet they are well knackered, poor little fella's.

Can confirm the weather here, it's starting to cool off a little as the summer turns to autumn. We went for a lovely walk yesterday, overcast weather is perfect for walking. My littlun still caught some sun though, I always forget to put sunscreen on, on cloudy days, you just don't think about it cos there is no sun! One day I will get used to it.;)

Your gig sounds like lots of fun Ian and Helena, you should've given me a bell, we'dv come along to support you! (or boo you! lol only kidding!)

I had a lovely weekend, Saturday I took the girls to the Middleton Country Fair, we drove the scenice route through Cygnet, Verona Sands, etc. (found the beach at Verona Sands, looks good for a hot day).
The fair was great, lot's of farm animals to pat and great food stalls, entertainment and produce to buy.

On Sunday we drove down through Dover and on to Hastings Cave where they have a hot spring fed swimming pool in the middle of the forest. Heated to 28deg, so warm, but bloody freezing when you get out!! Bought big fat cherries on the way home.

thanks for the link - interesting to see a list of the average prices etc...
so you live in one of the most expensive area's i see! :D:D:D

quite a few properties have been sold in the last year haven't they. I wonder if there's a list of how many new residents there are on the Island since beginning of 2007 as i reckon a lot of those sales have been to new residents or people buying from the mainland....

Sounds lovely! (better than our weekend over here anyway which consisted mainly of shopping and housework apart from Saturday evening when i got a chance to go out - it was a friends birthday and a crowd of us girlies went for a meal in a restaurant in Spitalfields in London.... I must admit i feel different when i venture into London lately - walking down Liverpool St to get the train and seeing the top of the "gherkin" building feels a bit weird. Not sure if i'll miss it or not yet? I think Andy will though as he mainly works in the City - although he'll not miss all the people - he is a big fan of some of the area's / buildings...

Feeling quite motivated to get this moving business started now...
Got two estate agents booked in now for valuations on Saturday morning and afternoon. Prices locally seem to have dropped a little since we got our visa's last year - so fingerscrossed the valuations will still be for the kind of figure we've got in our heads! (otherwise Andy may not get quite the car he hoped for when we arrive!)

I have a few questions! I need to open an Oz bank account. We were planning to do this before we did our validation trip last year - but never got around to it! What banks are people with? I see the paperwork to open a Commonwealth Bank account is easy and they dont need too much info - did anyone else open an account with them and still use it now that they're in Tas? We've been warned by some people that certain banks have quite high charges for certain things.
Also, we want to keep some of our UK accounts (savings and current accounts) open. Does anyone in Tas have their UK statements etc mailed to their Oz address or do you do all your banking online for any open UK accounts?
:):)

Hi

Hope your valuations go well and the news is good:)
We have had ours on the market for a month now, have had one viewing which was really positive but they have not sold their own house yet:frown:
Estate agents have had a couple of other enquiries but no more viewings yet, with the current market we may have to drop the price in a few months time but can't afford to go down much, so fingers crossed for nice sunny weather in Feb and a nice big interest rate drop from the Bank of England (please!)

Fingers crossed for you to sell quickly!

Sam

Hi, trying to sell our house to make it to Tas, had four viewings so far. Estate agents say things are picking up slowly
Fingers crossed for rate cut. Hopefully this will help house sales. And we make it Tas this year. good luck Jane :)
