Sydney meet-up
#16
We'd be keen to meet up as well. As for dates we are quite flexible as we don't have many friends to be too booked up at the weekends!! Perhaps second weekend in September (first one is Fathers Day here I believe).

So, it looks like a suitable venue has been mentioned . . . . . all we need now is a date . . . . . anyone!

Maybe Saturday 2nd September? or are Sundays best?
Also - I don't know the Olympic site & parks at all - is there cover or much to do if the weather is bad, or should there be a bad weather alternative?

I'd be interested in the Sydney one as I have South African friends who have just moved to Turramurra from Moscow if that makes sense & shes feeling a bit lonely.
Once date & venue is set I might message them to go along & meet other Ex pats if thats ok.

I wouldn't object to sooner rather than later as I am quickly going stir crazy here, but don't mind if people need time to plan etc.

Please not Fathers day......we have a diving competition that day already.....mind you, it's at the Aquatic Centre at Homebush so we could all meet there
As someone else mentioned weekends do get really booked up when you have children. We have parties booked in for the next 3 weekends on either one or both days, plus the school fair, diving comp etc etc etc.
I think what usually happens is that if people want to come they say on the thread or send you a PM. You then let them have your mobile number and if it's raining they can call to see whether the meet is still on. To be honest, with kids it's not easy to arrange an indoor plan B if it rains.
How about the second weekend in September? The 8th / 9th? (because that's the only one I can make for the next few weeks
- can't make the one after that either). Maybe some others could post about whether this is convenient and say whether the Saturday or Sunday is better. We'll get there!!

Unfortunately I think you will have to count us out for September - busy the first weekend, middle daughter's birthday the second weekend, moving house the third weekend, girls doing physie competitions the following weekend. . . Busy, busy, busy! Thank heaven I'll get my "girlie" dose the first Tuesday in September..... when we fix a venue for our meet, that is!

I think Sundays would be better for your meet as lots of people (parents) seem to spend Saturdays ferrying kids to football matches, swimming, rugby etc.
