How about Soup Plus? Cheap food, old time brass swing bands (cool daddy-o) then we could leg it to a nearby pub.

Can't say I've ever spotted it, so it may well have closed.

Just had a thought - something that might meet the requirements of being nearer to Circular Quay, cheaper, serves good food (apparently - never eaten there myself): how about the Lord Nelson on Kent Street?

http://www.lordnelson.com.au/

Just an idea - whether for this time or one in the future. :)

That's a good suggestion. I went there last week, and the beer was pretty good.

I must buy share in Aussie breweries - the amount you seem to drink I would get great dividends!! ;)

Aye, it has a good selection.

I've hijacked for long enough. OH and I will be happy to turn up wherever, so I'll keep an eye on what you decide and see you then. :)

PJ O'Brady and Lord Wellington both sound good. :D
I really liked the lack of too loud music last night.

OK, having had not the best of experiences in the Irish bars in The Rocks, I was going to suggest that we go for the Lord Nelson tomorrow evening?

Meet there at 6:30 pm? How does that sound?
