Do you have a favorite picnicing park in London when shopping?

In Adelaide, for me, it would be the River Torrens park next to the shopping district:

The good old River Torrens eh?Spent quite a few avvo's there as a kid growing up.I see it still has water in it,unless its an old picture!Oh no wait a minute I'm getting the rivers mixed up,thats the Murray River is'nt it that in some places is only the size of a creek and people can walk across it,shame about the drought is'nt it?Yeah that area along near the Festie theatre,is'nt that a nortorious hang out for paedo's and gays?
Parks in London? Can't actually name them because its not a place we visit very often(I'm a country girl at heart you see!)but yep plenty around when I was there last.I don't take much notice of the names of parks tbh.

Nice to see such a beautiful photo, on a chilly wet day in Brum. Keeps the dream alive. Although I did spend last weekend wondering round a lovely national trust house in the sun, before heading to Stratford upon Avon for beautiful fish and chips by the river. Although at £5.95 each not that cheap, but worth it.

Big rains in Qld flooding the Darling so the lower reaches of the Murray is likely to flush in a few months.

A little challenge for you if you wish:
Google Maps London

Google maps now has street view so you can find a park (or whatever) on the map then see what it looks like from the street.

Your challenge, should you choose to take it, is to find a park in London you think you would like to picnic in. Sort of like geocaching.

I have two vivid memories of having picnics in parks in Adelaide(suburbs)and both horrible memories at that! One was when my daughter was around 6 months of age.I took her in her pram to the local park for a picnic. We were sat on a blanket, when this young guy(looked around 16)rode past on his bike, trousers pulled down to his knees w****** himself?Nice!I was so bloody angry I yelled some abuse at him as he cycled off.The next time was another park, same scenario, some old guy came near us,dropped his trousers and started w****** himself. You would'nt think that type of thing happened in little old Adelaide would you?

Would put one right off one's tea. Put you off parks?

I've heard that the River Torrens park was a pickup place for homos in the era when it was punishable by hanging. Not sure these days.

Well they were discussing that issue on 5aa the other week and its still going on unfortunately.Yes it did put me off parks in Adelaide. After those two episodes we moved up country. There's alot of weirdo's out there, thats for sure.In that same area,I was walking my baby in the pram to the shops one avvo and a car pulled up beside me.The guy driving wound the window down, thought he was going to ask for directions or whatever but nope he too was w****** himself???????.As he drove off I straight away looked at the rego plate, which was covered over by canvas!Nice!Yes I reported all those incidents to the cops but nothing happened.Yep its just as well they don't show you crap like that on "Wanted down Under"is'nt it?

I would have thought that exposing themselves would have made them "Wanted Down Under", no? Or am I missing something again?
