SE QLD 4WD trip
Fellow 4wders
There have been a few posts in the 4wd for under $20K thread indicating an interest in a 4wd trip. So, post your interest here... was thinking of maybe a camping trip to fraser or something similar. Cheers, Mark. |

Re: SE QLD 4WD trip
OK, so dare I take the bull by the horns and suggest a date and start to compile a list of interested parties?
Thought perhaps the day trip to Bribie may be a good idea to start. Give those that have never 'done' sand before a chance to iron out the creases so to speak and to see if they like it? Datewise, a Sunday would prolly be the best option methinks. Time wise would depend on the tides so would have to confirm that nearer the date. Hows about 25th November? Gives us plenty of notice. What thinks you all? OK, a list of interested parties so far: Fluffythecampfireslayer (Rob & Caroline) TimberFloorAU (Steve & Debs) KevinBloomfield Permits available HERE |

Re: SE QLD 4WD trip
We go to Bribie all the time so should be OK for that.
As for the camping trip, what about sometime late December during the xmas hols? |
Re: SE QLD 4WD trip
25th is a bit soon for us as we only arrive a few days beforehand-but keep us updated to future events as we love 4WD !

For those that have never driven on a beach before - this is the kind of thing you can expect!
This was our first time and we loved it - been back a couple of times since! Click the link for photos: Bribie Island Photos I have also attached a document published by QLD Gov't containing loads of info for driving on sand! |

Re: SE QLD 4WD trip
So what's the go then, are we meeting somewhere in the morning and then going to Bribie together? Also, has anyone got a mobile barbie (we don't). It'd be good to drive up the beach, stop for a paddle/swim and then have some drinks and food and then head back.
Is anyone into fishing? if so I'll bring my rods What's the consensus? |

We could set up at one of the lagoons and get the barbies out, we dont have one either at the mo, but should do by then hopefully. People can then do what they like, fishing, swimming, hooning up and down the beach, drinking, footy - whatever! There's then a nice pub back in Woorim that has live music on a Sun arvo just to unwind at the end of the day! Its a tried and tested formula! ;) |
Re: SE QLD 4WD trip
Bloody hell, sounds like a great day out and good training for a long weekend at Fraser island in the near future.
I'll get our son to come along as well, the more the merrier :-) |
