Outback Steakhouse; non-genuine non-Australian food made by non-Australians. Oh, you have to tip the waiters as well, 'cos they're all on the US's antiquated gratuity system.
That'll learn the beggars for pushing McChuck on Aussie kids.

Spot on Kong.

The only thing worse than the pubs is most of the 'so called' beer:scared:

I wasn't whinging about it. This thread started as a comment on one aspect of life in Australia.

Why is any criticism of Australia seen as 'whinging' whereas any criticism of the UK gets applauded?

I said I thought Most Australian beer tasted like piss. Personal opinion.
That is probably doing a disservice to piss

Well my local pub is beginning to seem a bit more attractive than this forum nowadays.

Not picking on you, I agree pubs are worse but I'm used to them now. One thing I was surprised with was the lack of Drunks. I thought Aussies had reputation as big drinkers but hardly seen any bother n pubs compared to Scotland.

Sorry Bordy
I am just a bit tetchy and a bit dismayed about a lot of the stuff that has been on here while I was away.
Everything so picky and people niggly.

Maybe it's me

Cheers

Sounds like an epiphany.

Personally, I dislike pubs of all denominations.

With the possible exception of Bush Pubs.

Nundle pub is great, a typical aussie outback pub. Two bars - one blood-and-guts bar for the men, another saloon bar for the women and kids. Great garden, good food, rooms to stay in. And the sell Guinness because Mr B's dad developed a taste for it over here and demanded that the stock it in Nundle

Check it out... http://www.peelinn.com.au/index.asp

Rooms to stay in? Do I take it that when The Great Nundle Wedding happens, you will be making a block booking there for expats?!:)
