Seems like there is so much to do before then. I handed my notice in at work last week, sad after 28 years:( Excited and scared at the same time but every now and then find myself quietly smiling. Better get packing!!!

Hiya

Oh my god Donna. How quick was that. Scary but exciting at the same time. We have 3 companies coming round on Friday afternoon to value the house so hopefully all systems go next week. We are still hoping for the end of May but don't know how realistic it is - guess it depends how quickly we can sell. Worst thing is we can't book anything at the other side until we have a definite date for moving out.

Who are you guys flying with and from where?

Jacqui

Hi Jacqui, yeah we were the same. Its kinda a balancing act. We booked our short term accommodation last night when we got the date for moving out of the house. We are flying Aberdeen - London - Brisbane. Singapore air, Neil did a fair bit of research online and they came up tops, better leg room- time will tell. We have a week between moving out of the house and the flights, just to allow time to tie up all the lose ends. Your house will go quickly, the market is just crazy. Good luck and keep me posted.

If you don't mind me asking how long was it from selling to the date you are moving out?

We are heading to the GC too, Tallebudgera Valley to start with as we are staying with relatives, from then on, who knows!!!! :)

Had visa since December 5th and house sale is just going through at the moment  So think we will be going around end May begining June.

Its been less than 10 months since we started thinking about emigrating, to say its been a bit of a rollercoaster ride would be a bit of an understatement!!!!! C x

About same time scale as us, we could have been moved in 5mths but held off on the house sale till we knew we had visa.

Hi Jacqui sorry for the delay, was night shift last night. On the market on the 8th March, sold on the 10th March and we move out on the 19th April. So about 5 1/2 weeks. Guess it depends on the buyers position.
hope this helps.

Hi Cheryl & stephen,

We are yet to receive our visas if they come by mid june we are just gona back up and head straight out at the end of June. Its just a waiting game to see how quickly we get them. We are heading to Brisbane and the plan at the mo is somewhere between there and the goldcoast.

Andreaxx

Hi Andrea
Have you ever been or are you just going to up and go?
We are staying at blue waters aprox 55 mins away from Brisbane. Thought the children would enjoy it..
I've been on here fact finding suburbs but until we go there is only so much you can do. Its soooo hard trying to find jobs etc. "Don't you think?"

Thanks for that Donna. That was a really quick turnaround. Guess we will just have to wait and see how long it takes to sell and when they want to move in.

Hiya, when we sold our house which was 4 weeks ago, EA said it would take on average 10-12 weeks to a move date, which suited us to a 'T'. The survey has now been done and everything is ok, thats was last week and the EA said it would now take 4-6 weeks!!!!!! So we now have 3-5 weeks to a possible move!!!! OMG!!! Good Luck with the house sale Scotschick. C x

That's so quick too. Glad everything is okay with the survey as it can be really nailbiting up until that point. Thanks for the good wishes. Things do seem to be moving quite quickly here and already have someone coming to see it on Sunday before it even officially goes on the market.
