Re: NZ versus Aus
It's another thing I always hear from NZers, 'we are a friendlier and nicer country than Australians we are amongst the friendliest people in the world'. What a load of nonsense. They're no more friendly a nation of people than anywhere else.

On the surface they are friendly enough but very hard to get to actually know them and make a friend of them. Very "two-faced" aswell. I've seen so many times Kiwis be so nice to someone that I've taken to be friends of theirs, to really slag them off behind their backs.I know that can happen everywhere but never seen it like here. Not very 'open'. Rarely actually speak their minds.

Re: NZ versus Aus
Funny. You just proved my point, that New Zealanders run other countries down to try and make NZ look better.

Not really.
I never stated that Australia wasn't a polluter, it is, big time, you just have to look at Hazelwood power station.
The difference is that Australia's tourist marketing programme is not based on propaganda and lies about how unpolluted it is.
Australia does not talk about "100% pure green Australia"

i've always been confused by this 100% PURE CLEAN GREEN NEW ZEALAND tag line because I can't find where the NZ govt. use it.
I've seen/heard the '100% PURE' line, but thats not the same and is very clever marketing...... anyone with 1/2 a brain knows NZ s not clean, same way as we know not all Australians swear. Its a shame all you Sheilas and Bruces can't geet your heeds around eet.

Re: NZ versus Aus
If New Zealanders were all as happy and 'friendly' as they all make out they are then they wouldn't feel a need to do this would they.

I think the best Kiwis have already left judging by the standard of your written English.

All of them speak glowingly about how wonderful New Zealand is.
None of them choose to live there.
Most of them have no plans to live there. Ever.

Re: NZ versus Aus
How can a country that appears to be so proud and defensive about their nation and its people be so quick to desert this country and join the 'enemy'. Logic would tell you they mustn't be as proud of their country as they make out.
Also, if NZ is so much better than Aus, why aren't Australians flocking over there to live. We have the same immigration concessions over there as they do over here yet hardly any of us move over there (or anywhere else for that matter). To most Australians, moving to NZ would amount to moving somewhere remote and isolated with hostile natives and nothing much to offer. Obviously Australia has a lot to offer NZers as it is almost like a great pot of gold over the other side of the rainbow when you consider the net migration rates between the two countries.
I know it's all been said before over and over again but seriously, NZ mustn't be that great a country after all.

Whereas even NZ citizens only get temporary residency in Australia, albeit a sort of perpetual temporary residency.
