Was at the Bicentennial Park at the Olympic Park last Sunday and it was a fantastic place. They have BBQ facilities, fantastic views, bike hire, lots of space for games and for the kids to run around. There's also the peace monument with some craking views.

Centennial Park has barbie pits by the kids cycle track and play park. Its a good spot if you have nippers to occupy.
Of course I'll doubtless fail to attend anyway.

Hey Soapy,
As promised, you can count me and Mr GG in. We're easy as to time/date, so we'll keep an eye on the thread and turn up!

Well me and Lee are well up for another round of animal impressions to go onto the website...!!!!
A BBQ would be even better and preferably not a Sunday so that we can all have a drink and not worry about work the next day.....
Let me know well in advance so I can book the weekend off at work.....

Hi Soapy
The Centenial Park in the Eastern Suburbs - not the one near the Olympic stadium would be good place for both those with and withjout kids. There are barbie areas too.
I also agree that it would be worth trying Saturday's as opposed to Sundays.
By the way I am sure a lot of people would be interested to know how you got on at the fishing the other day - you must have caught loads since you were wearing your luck hat.

Just thought I'd chip in that Saturday would be fine for us. Serves as a useful bump, too!

Are we still allowed? (going back to the UK) If its before the 14th April and you don't diss us for leaving, (impressed with my teen-speak?) we'll be there, ready to try & take Soapy's trousers off one last time......

hi everyone. sorry i havent had a chance to get on here. my brother has been visiting
im all free again for the banter.
right!!!!!
jason k had a great idea with the park he mentioned. its a great park with loads of BBQs and loads of space for the kids. its really easy to get to and loads of parking. so i put in the second vote for that park. anyone else up for it??
now the date...hmmmmmm saturdays a great idea
how about the second of april? the day after nick(igual) birthday
so, ive put a date and a place, lets see who is up for it or has a better idea.
the reason for the date is.......
rosie and mike leave for the uk very soon and it wouldnt be right having the next meet after they left
so lets have a big turnoot for 'rosie and family'
oh and we wont pick on her for leaving us either
a lot of new expats have arrived since the last meet so this will now be called the hello and goodbye meet.
now im off to read the rest of the posts on this thread.

We have a vast age range at the meet from 20s to the more senior members (not mentioning any names for fear of getting run over on my way to work by a classic car lol) loads of kids who just run mad for the day, singles and couples. There is a core group who turn out for just about every meet. Ive never really asked why because they have all settled and have friends outside the expats, maybe its for the same reason that I go?
So far we haven’t had any nutters, well except me lol. Last meet a new bunch turned up and fitted in like they had always been here. Anyone thinking about coming to the next one shouldn’t give it a second thought, what have u got to loose? The info u gain from it is great and u are always guaranteed a good laugh. Good luck to u and we hope to catch up with u at one of the meets later in the year.
