Well, direct flight for the Olympics was going to be $3000 for Qantas or Singapore Airlines. By booking a return to Singapore on SA and a return from Sing to Heathrow on Qantas got it for $2000. Singapore is the only place in Asia where you can book from outside the country and get a locals price. Can't do from HK or Bangkok.

I speak to best mate in Aberdeen many hours a week - through extensive price comparison (we always talk about prices as seem to be doing similar things at the same time) we have found 3 things that are cheaper in Aus i) limo hire, ii) hardwood flooring, iii) someone pressure washing drive. Most stuff way more expensive here - her kitchen £12k, mine $27k - her's is twice the size and included heated flooring and knocking down a wall. Her bathroom £7k, mine $18k and again her's is bigger and had more tiling done.
Hesitate to raise the tomato thing again but she just paid £5 for 6kg tray from the greengrocer (I could weep!)

When I have been invited to one and look around me I think I am not alone.
I refuse to use the one we have at home.....it only gets wheeled out when guests want one.

Well we are all different, I love barbecues, folks in the UK are more obsessed with them than the Aussies, I think it's so natural and an everyway day of live over there, it doesn't really register, but here in the UK when we get some nice weather, it's a mad frenzied scramble to the supermarket to buy some stuff to barbecue, it's sold out in no time.

Someone at Qantas told me not many people know but Singapore is the only place where you can get a locals price. Of course there may be other places but only going of what I tried and was told.
