If you hadn't been to one of the public schools, you tended to be looked down on like you were something that they had stepped on (my husband did go to one of those schools and even he said that their pretty snobby). It did seem to be a Brisbane issue only though. Other places in Queensland the people were amazing and still count some of them as my closest friends.

Needless to say, we are looking at other areas. Possibly Melbourne in the long term.
