Its as laid back as a man on death row. Pretentious OMG. I walk round the shopping centres and it has either got the biggest per centage of 10c millionaires or debt city.
Food shopping is fantastic i laugh every week. 300 dollars for a few tim tams and chicken breast full of hormones and fruit and veg covered in Cancer causing chemicals. Let me guess yours is all great!
Houses, bought one live in one and guess, would never buy another one. Its got the feel of something me gran knocked up after her first day at woodclass. Me pool lovely cut through the crap use it comfortably 3 mnths out of 12.
Education, depending on schools can be good. OOH, you probably will pay private for what you get at a good state uk school, if you are lucky. Teachers get paid well with no national curriculum in place, of course this is so they can be more creative, or sit on their arse with no targets for th 85k they gey paid.
Economy, is good and doing well at the moment. Of course that is what the t.v will tell you. If its as crash hot as they say then next week it will be on parity with the pound. NO NO NO! Australia is making money from selling its own land and selling it to china with the only development on how to dig bigger holes.
Crime, not good in terms of any big cities with the same problems with regards to immigrants. Many disadvantaged refugees being given asylum in Australia and bringing their problems and cheap attitude towards life.
Cars, you will pay a fortune for a car which you thought you had scrapped 10 years ago, but hey i am not materialstic,
WELCOME TO OZ!

Is there any way that we can get you to change your mind?

Love it

Best laugh I've had all day. Isn't it wonderful how we all see things differently.

I think I'll do an account audit of all I've earned and owned and accumulated over the last 30 years in Aus and really start smiling. Wonder if would have ended up with the same kind of wealth in the UK as a strictly blue collar worker..... Postal worker now actually.

Looking forwards to my many round the world trips in less than 10 years.

But imagine you were starting out now, do you think you would have the same (relative) kind of wealth accrued thirty years from now?

I honestly dont know how the next 30 years will compare to the last. Probably not I'd say.

Although I reckon you could be better off here, given the same sort kind of job and circumstances compared to the UK. I'm guessing that Aus would have a brighter future for the majority of it's people.

Oh definitely, I think so too, given the state of Europe at the moment.

However, I think 30 years ago you could probably live on a let less money (again, relatively speaking) than you could now. I would have thought a postie starting out now would find things quite tight (but I am totally assuming here as I have no idea of the salaries etc).
