Today, we have said goodbye to my father-in-law, my mum, the brother-in-law etc. and tomorrow have to do it again at the airport.
As i type this message i am welling up, our daughter shannon is lay beside me on the bedroom floor sobbing.I don't believe there is a single thing you can do to prepare you for the emotions felt saying goodbye. It doesn't matter how many times you tell them and yourself " we'll see each other all the time over the internet, we'll probably chat more than we do now ", it still feels awful.
When people leave you can't talk, it's all hand signals and nods of the head, you daren't because you know full well that if you open your mouth then your voice will start to waiver and then all hell brakes loose, so instead of telling them what you had planned to tell them you keep things short and sweet.
We are staying at my sister in laws and we fly in the morning, due to arrive in brisbane 8.00pm tuesday.
I shall have to go now, people want to go to bed as they have to be up very early in the morning and do all the driving
The next time we log in will be in australia.Take care everyone and send some karma skywards tomorrow for us.

It's definitely the toughest bit, when it all becomes very real, I'll never forget it, horrible. Good luck to you all, have a safe trip.

Well, that's me gone. I was ok until Poppy put in an appearance. That was so touching. Look forward to your new life not the life you've left behind. People and places will always be here for you.
Let us all know how you're getting on, all the very best to you and your family.

PS by the time you read this you'll be in Oz :scared:

Well how did it go? I think me and everyone on the expats was thinking of you today. When i read your post last night i went to bed in floods of tears, it brought the reality of it all to me, and how hard it really will be.
Take care and be happy

I have the most evil SIL in the world, I believe she is Bin Ladens long lost love child. The thought of never having too see her po-faced mug again fills me with utter joy!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your wellwishes and everyone else for theirs.
It was probably one of the worst experiences I've had to put up with for a long while. Paul was born in Oz - and it brought it home as to the brave faces that all our wellwishers showed when we went out there. Paul's look said ' let's just get on this plane ', Ann Marie and my GK's were all sobbing but it's a transient thing - everyone has their own way of dealing with it
and we'll all get over it in time (I've just been corrected - come to terms with it - you never get over it) - but it will become easier.
Take care
