BLOODY HELL LADS!!
hey, hey, hey [said in a scouser accent
] Stop this talk about banning
Everyone has a right to their views, and apart from the fact you guys never agree on things, why should you be banned
Why don't you both get a drink. Beer for you Arkon as you're in Aus and a cuppa tea for Vash cos you're in UK
and calm down, calm down [scouser accent again
]
Seriously, it's good to hear differences in opinion, but you don't have to get banned for it

Secondly, I think you have in a roundabout way made a very valid point. I have read with great interest many posts in recent days related to this subject and it seems to me that some members have more brownie points in their cookie jar (with which to pay taxes) than others, and that those with more brownie points (for whatever reason that may be) are treated in a different light.
Now those who uphold virtue may disagree with this, but to me it seems liberty is a tad peppered with favour.
Having said this ( a rather bold step in my opinon), I offer my profuse apologies to any I might have offended. I neither seek power nor wish to deride or denigrate anyone. It's merely a simple observation, not an indicator of some rebellious uprising or mutiny.

I have been in Aus many times and have come up against the odd person with the sort of attitude that made me want to run for the hills, but I have found them in the UK too.
I'm now living in the Blue Mountains and sure it's got it's problems (Social ones in Katoomba especially) but generally the attitude is one of 'battling' and succeeding against the odds around here. I wonder if you wouldn't be more comfortable in another part of Australia. Northern NSW doesn't suit obviously, but Northern NSW isn't 'ALL AUSTRALIANS', it's actually a tiny minority. There are so many facets of Australia that it's terribly difficult to button hole people as all having incompatible values and morals with yourself, surely?
I guess you know the people around you, but have you tried anywhere else? Have you met other Australians? I love the people up here for example - they're so strong... They'll get on and succeed because it's the way of folk up here.
It's also, interestingly, got a very European feel. There are many ten pound poms up here, as well as Dutch, German, French, Swiss, etc etc. All in all, you could say that it's very European in feel, but they are still Australian... they're what has made up this area and what has shaped it's paths.
I am not here because it 'feels' European, more that I am here because it's where family lives. I guess I'd make a go of it wherever they lived, because the family aspect is more important to me than the surroundings.
IF you ever come up for a visit, drop in and have a drink. We're more than happy to introduce you to where we live. Not all Aussies are the same.

Nuff said, no need for banning as long as everyone gets back to the topic of whether Arkon can be self-sufficient on oil, and whether you can roast alpacas........oh, and lets not forget the price of fruit........

Well this thread has certainly been hectic, but it's nice to see apologies have been given and received.
I don't intend banning anyone at this moment in time, because where I live it's still breakfast and I am currently eating a bowl of the US equivalent of sugar puffs.
Good morning/afternoon/evening/night to all
..... and with that I will close this thread.
