Ok, I've just done this. The best prices I could find PER-TXL, BUD-PER was $2072. However, by looking at Jetstar to Singapore and Luftansa for the rest of the flights the total cost was $1256. Even with paying extra for baggage allowance on Jetstar I still save $750!
Thanks for that.
Thanks for that.

Priced a Scoot to Sing - Qatar to Doha - Emirates to London flight a couple of weeks back for June this year. About $1500 return.
if you are a budget traveler than there's some amazing prices to be had if you look outside the box.

This trick is gaining some severe momentum. I did it last year and saved a small fortune during the Olympics. The stops in Singapore worked in quite nicely.

Stopping in SIN isn't a hardship for me. I love Singapore and can always find a way to kill any stopovers.

With effect from 14 February 2013 Malaysia increased their baggage allowances by 10kg so they now allow 30kg in economy, which was fantastic timing for my daughter who has just flown back from the UK on Malaysia and was concerned about her overweight suitcase until I happened to see this:
