That's because it makes sense.

The OP needs some independence. She needs her own money so she can shoot off to the UK when she feels like it. Money sounds like an issue, so why not bring some more in.

The OP also needs a good group of girlfriends who she can socialise with. Perhaps one of you ladies can offer friendship instead of wasting your time attacking and blaming men for all the wrongs in the world.

Wow, so its that easy ladies. Damn I wish someone would've told me how easy life was years ago. Thanks man.
When you said you get attacked just for being born with a penis, you were obviously refering to the one on your head.

Gosh,didn't mean to start WW3.
Thanks for the replies, would just like to make clear a few things.
I never said I didn't have money or independence. That is not the issue.
He does know how I feel, I am just struggling a bit with the fact that he would go ahead and do this anyway.

Then, i'm sorry, he has no respect for your feelings and is a very selfish man. What you do about it only you can decide. I hope you'll be okay with however you deal with it. Thinking of you...big hugs.

I think in this particular situation, you are right.Generally he is not like this though,I think that is partly why I am so upset,I am just gobsmacked that he is actually going.
Thanks for your kind thoughts.

Are you 100% certain that he is OK with how life is now? Reading this he looks to be selfish but there is also his side of things to take into account that none of us on this forum can guess at.

Get your credit card out and book yourself/children your own holiday to UK. You are your own person, be assertive. He can pay for it when you get back. What's the difference? Blabbing on here, hoping OH will see yr post, won't get you a ticket. You have to make things happen if you want it that bad. Go for it!

So sorry DD - it isnt easy being stuck here and when you are stuck and your OH is swanning about on a holiday at home would be incredibly galling. I'd be tempted to max out the credit card as well and head home too - or maybe if you have kids, you could wait until he is back and then head off yourself leaving him to cope with the family! How could he not realize the pain he was going to cause you?!

I can see what you are all saying but maxing out the credit cards isn't going to help in the long run. You will just end up with more hassle and a bigger strain on what looks like a fraught relationship as it is.

You both need to sit down and have a long talk about what's really wrong. Whatever that is.
