I read last week that John Lewis is starting international deliveries, starting in Europe and expanding to USA, Aus and NZ by August.

All good. I reckon including the postage the trainers have worked out to be almost half the Aussie price tags

Why not suggest it to them?

Point up how overpriced the market is here, and how they could expand into new markets. Point up Amazon, Next, John Lewis are doing it. I wouldn't be surprised to see them bite.

I'm not sure if electricals are much cheaper in the UK, but there are definately gaps that can be filled here. Maybe it's because of the smallish size of the local market but Australia is cr@p at tapping into the potential of online sales.

This is one area where costs are broadly similar between the UK and Australia

Hmmm I can get Levis 501's for 70 bucks... they charge 23 bucks delivery... so 8 bucks difference. Just wait for a Just Jeans or Jeans West sale If you cant wait and are in Melbourne head to Smith Street Collingwood for the factory outlets.

I was getting excited for a moment then.... Possibly gets worthwhile if buying 3 items or more... useful site I will admit.

Those factory outlets on Smith St are pretty average in my opinion, generally selling low quality or stuff they could never sell in the shop, the nike shop mainly sells at prices pretty much the same as the high st. However i have noticed most of the big shops now are nearly in constant sales mode. At the weekend in Chadstone i picked up a pair of $120 jeans for $29, a nice shirt $99 down to $49 and the wife picked up a 100% merino wool business suit down from $650 to $300. The wife got used to buying heavily discounted designer wear whilst living in London and was a tad depressed with the prices when she came back to Melbourne, but in the last few months i have noticed an increase in the bargains she is picking up.... not sure that's a good thing

I paid $118 for 2 pairs of 501s including delivery but in my neck of the woods they're around $99 to $109 a pair.
